The Corsair Curse

01Before you sail

1. 1

   Bank first. Corsair Cove's bank is locked until the quest is finished, so anything you forget is a long trip away.

   Speak to Captain Tock at the crossroads north of Port Sarim, then meet him at the western Rimmington dock to sail to Corsair Cove.

02Three theories to disprove

Each of three crewmen thinks he caused the curse. All three are wrong, and proving it is the quest.

1. 1

   Talk to Ithoi in his hut south-west of the cove first, then to Arsen, Colin and Gnocci in any order. All three are upstairs in their huts, which is easy to miss.

2. 2

   Arsen thinks he stole a sacred relic. Get the ogre artefact from Captain Tock on the ship, take it down the hole west of the cove, and show Chief Tess — it is one of her toothpicks. Report back to Arsen.

3. 3

   Colin thinks he offended a mermaid. Use the telescope in Ithoi's hut: the mermaid is an ogre called Bugs. Tell Colin.

4. 4

   Gnocci thinks he buried a demon-possessed doll. Dig by the lump of sand west of Ithoi's hut, just west of the fishing spot, to find a clockwork toy. Spare spade and tinderbox are near Gnocci's hut and under the tropical tree south of it.

03The traitor

1. 1

   Your quest log should now read that you have ruled out all three theories. If it does not, go back and finish whichever conversation you left hanging.

2. 2

   Return to Captain Tock. He describes the crew falling ill after a dinner — but Gnocci never cooked that night, which points at who did.

04Taking care of Ithoi

1. 1

   Go back to Ithoi's hut and climb the stairs. He attacks immediately at level 35, using elemental strikes and Curse.

   Bring food. He splashes often but still hits hard enough to matter at low level.

2. 2

   If your stats are low, run to the telescope near the entrance — he gets stuck on one side of it, letting you attack and step back.

3. 3

   Any arrows or bolts you use are destroyed at the end of the fight, so do not bring anything you mind losing.
