About Slayer

Slayer gives you tasks from a master and unlocks the ability to damage certain monsters at all. It is the primary source of high-value drops in the game, and the main reason most accounts train combat at all.

It is slower per hour than dedicated combat training, but it pays for itself many times over and unlocks content nothing else can reach.

Fastest training

Rates assume an attentive player with the gear and unlocks that make each method work. Real sessions include banking, breaks and mistakes.

Tasks from Duradel or Nieve

Levels any25,000–60,000 xp/hr

Take tasks from the highest master you qualify for, block the worst assignments, and use the Slayer helmet. Efficiency here is mostly about task selection.

Barraging in the Catacombs or Nightmare Zone

Levels 85+60,000–100,000 xp/hr

Multi-target tasks barraged in a confined space give the highest Slayer experience available.

Other approaches

Profitable
Slayer is the backbone of mid and late-game income. Abyssal demons, gargoyles and the boss tasks all pay well.

Useful quests

Quest experience is often worth far more than the time it takes, particularly at low levels where the curve is shallowest.
