OSRS Firemaking training guide
Burns logs. Fast, free and famously one of the least useful skills.
About Firemaking
Firemaking has very few practical uses beyond lighting fires for Cooking and a handful of quest requirements. It is trained mainly for the total level and the 99 cape.
Wintertodt changed this considerably: it is a genuinely rewarding minigame that trains Firemaking while producing supplies and experience in other skills.
Fastest training
Rates assume an attentive player with the gear and unlocks that make each method work. Real sessions include banking, breaks and mistakes.
Wintertodt
The standard method. Trains Firemaking quickly, gives experience in skills of your choosing, and the crates contain useful supplies.
Burning logs at the Grand Exchange
Simple and fast, but it costs the price of the logs and returns nothing.
Other approaches
- Cheapest
- Wintertodt, which pays you rather than costing you.
- Free-to-play
- Burn logs you cut yourself. There is no free-to-play Wintertodt equivalent.
Useful quests
Quest experience is often worth far more than the time it takes, particularly at low levels where the curve is shallowest.
