OSRS Hitpoints training guide
Your health pool. Trains passively whenever you deal damage in combat.
About Hitpoints
Hitpoints starts at level 10 rather than 1 and rises automatically as you deal damage with any combat style. You will almost never train it deliberately.
A high Hitpoints level is what makes long trips and demanding boss fights survivable, and it contributes directly to your combat level.
Fastest training
Rates assume an attentive player with the gear and unlocks that make each method work. Real sessions include banking, breaks and mistakes.
Any combat training
Every point of damage you deal gives Hitpoints experience at a third of the rate of the attacking style. Train combat normally and Hitpoints follows.
Controlled melee style
The controlled style splits experience three ways across Attack, Strength and Defence while still granting full Hitpoints experience, which is why balanced accounts use it.
Other approaches
- AFK
- Anything that trains combat with no input trains Hitpoints too.
- Free-to-play
- Trains automatically from any free-to-play combat.
Useful quests
Quest experience is often worth far more than the time it takes, particularly at low levels where the curve is shallowest.
- Dragon Slayer IThe classic free-to-play capstone. Defeat the dragon Elvarg to unlock rune platebody.
- Waterfall QuestNo combat requirements, no skill requirements, and it takes a fresh account to level 30 Attack and Strength.
- Fight ArenaA series of arena fights. One of the better Attack experience rewards available early.
Making money with Hitpoints

- Tombs of AmascutThe raid you set the difficulty of yourself, which makes it the one to learn in.Level 95
