About this quest
Ardougne Zoo has lost a ferret and the huntsman sent to catch another has stopped writing. The quest is a short investigation with a costume puzzle in the middle and no real combat.
Its value is entirely in the unlocks. Falconry is the fastest Hunter training for a long stretch of the skill, and the eagle transport network is a genuinely useful piece of travel infrastructure that most players forget exists.
Why do it: Falconry, which is the best Hunter experience available for many levels, plus the eagle transport network and a large lump of Hunter experience on completion.
Walkthrough
01The missing huntsman

Talk to Charlie the zookeeper at Ardougne Zoo, south-west near the scorpion cage.

Travel to Eagles' Peak, west of the Tree Gnome Stronghold, and find Nickolaus at the campsite. A cutscene shows you how ferret trapping works.
02The bird costume
Getting inside the peak means not looking like a person. The costume is made to order, and the materials are the only shopping the quest requires.

Ask the fancy dress shop owner about bird costumes. He needs ten eagle feathers, a yellow dye, some swamp tar and a small fee.

03Finishing

Catch the ferret and take it back to Charlie at the zoo.

Afterwards, return with a rope and use it on each eagle to open the transport network permanently.

The eagle network is not unlocked by finishing the quest. You have to go back and rope each eagle individually, and most players never do.
What to do next
Falconry is available at the Piscatoris hunter area and is the fastest Hunter training from level 43 to the mid 60s. If you intend to train Hunter at all, this is where you do it.
Rope each of the eagles. It takes a few minutes and gives you fast travel between several awkward parts of the map that otherwise need long runs.
