About this quest

Starting out: Talk to Gertrude west of Varrock.

There is no written introduction to this one yet. The walkthrough, requirements, items and rewards below are complete.

Walkthrough

01The Sisters Grime

Five separate rat problems in five cities. Long, and the cat mechanics are where most of the time goes.

  1. 1

Talk to Gertrude, then find Phingspet and Grimesquit in the Varrock Sewers east of the palace exit.

    • 2

Have them sniff your cat before you start catching rats.

Rats caught before the sniffing do not count. You need eight, and your quest journal tracks the total.

    02Jimmy Dazzler

    1. 1

Jimmy is in a house west of the Flying Horse Inn in East Ardougne, on the west side of the river. He gives you directions to read.

    2. 2

You have to move through the house unseen by the guards.

A guard having his back turned is not enough — they still spot you. Expect this section to take a while unless you are lucky.

    03Hooknosed Jack and Smokin' Joe

    1. 1

Hooknosed Jack is in south-eastern Varrock. He makes rat poison from a vial, red spiders' eggs and a kwuarm if you have none.

    2. 2

Use the poison on four cheeses, then use — do not eat — each on the four rat holes at the top of the warehouse south of the pub.

      • 3

Smokin' Joe is east of the pickaxe shop in Keldagrim, which needs The Giant Dwarf started. Light a pot of weeds with a tinderbox and use it on the rat hole east of him.

        • Tinderbox

      04The Face and Felkrash

      1. 1

The Face is in Port Sarim beside the fishing shop. She sends you to Felkrash down the manhole in the rat pits.

      2. 2

Ask The Face the third dialogue option about the snake charmer before you leave.

Speak to her first. Without that conversation, Ali the Snake Charmer in Pollnivneach will not discuss charming anything but snakes.

      3. 3

Buy or bring a snake charm — The Feud also rewards one — and use it as she describes.
