The Golem

Travel to the Ruins of Uzer — a necklace of passage to Eagles' Eyrie, or a fairy ring, are the quick routes.

• Pestle and mortar

Talk to the broken clay golem and use each piece of soft clay on it in turn.

If you are short of clay, mine it at the north-western mine with a bracelet of clay, or use the jug of water at the oasis south of Uzer on hard clay. World hopping respawns the jug.

Repaired, the golem explains it was built to destroy the demon Thammaron and needs help opening the way in.

Find Elissa in the north-eastern corner of the Digsite. A digsite pendant or gnome glider is the fastest way there.

She sends you to the Exam Centre. Search the south-easternmost bookshelf for Varmen's notes and read them.

Reading the notes is a required step, not flavour. Carrying them without reading leaves the quest stuck.

Return to Elissa and ask where the statuette went, then recover it.

Back at Uzer, enter the dungeon by the golem and place the statuette in the empty alcove in the centre.

Turn every statuette to face north, towards the double doors. Examined individually, the eastern statues should face right and the western ones left.

The statues lock and the doors open. Thammaron died of his wounds long ago, so there is no fight.

A chisel and hammer on the throne yields two cut rubies and two emeralds on your way past — easy to miss and worth taking.
