Amethyst is the most AFK profitable mining in the game. Each rock takes a long time to yield, which sounds like a drawback and is actually the point — you click once and do something else for twenty seconds.
The crystals are used for the best ranged ammunition in the game, so demand is driven by PvM consumption rather than by other skillers, which keeps the price steadier than most ores.
The Mining Guild bank sits a few steps from the amethyst area, so almost no time is lost to travel and the rate holds up over a long session.
Mining 92 is the requirement, which puts this firmly in late-game territory. It is a reward for the level rather than a way to reach it.
What you actually do
- 1Travel to the Mining Guild and go to the amethyst area at the far end.
- 2Mine amethyst until your inventory is full.
- 3Bank in the guild, which is a few steps away.
