Cooking raw fish

Buy raw fish, cook it, sell it cooked. A simple processing loop that trains Cooking at the same time.

F2PBeginnerLow riskModerate attention

Cooking bought fish is processing with a skill attached: the margin is the cooked-versus-raw gap, and your Cooking level determines how much of it you keep by not burning the stock.

Cooking gauntlets from Family Crest reduce the burn rate on the highest-value fish, which protects the margin directly. On expensive fish they are close to mandatory.

The Hosidius kitchen is the best location — a range next to a bank, with a burn reduction bonus on top from Kourend favour.

Karambwan and anglerfish carry the best margins but demand high Cooking levels. Lower down the list the gaps are narrow enough that the tax can eat them entirely.

What you actually do

  1. 1Buy raw fish in bulk from the Grand Exchange.
  2. 2Cook them at a range with a bank close by — the Hosidius kitchen and Rogues Den are the usual picks.
  3. 3Sell the cooked fish and repeat.

Getting the most from it

  • Cooking gauntlets reduce the burn rate, which directly protects the margin.
  • The Hosidius kitchen has a range next to a bank and a burn-reduction bonus on top.
  • The margin is the cooked-raw gap less the 2% tax, so check it before buying a large stack.
