Tanning dragonhide
Buy dragonhides, pay a tanner, sell the leather. No requirements beyond the coins to start.
Tanning is one of the very few methods with no skill requirement whatsoever. Any account with capital can buy dragonhide, pay a tanner, and sell leather.
The tanner charges a fixed fee per hide, so the margin is the hide-to-leather price gap minus that fee minus the sale tax. All three need checking together.
Al Kharid is the usual location because the tanner and the bank are close, and the whole inventory tans in a single interaction.
As with all processing, buy limits cap the rate. Running several hide colours at once is how people scale this beyond a modest hourly figure.
What you actually do
- 1Buy dragonhide in bulk and travel to a tanner — Al Kharid is the usual choice.
- 2Tan the whole stack in one interaction.
- 3Sell the leather and repeat when the buy limit resets.
Getting the most from it
- There is no skill requirement at all, which makes this one of the few good methods available immediately.
- The tanning fee comes out of the margin, so check the current spread before committing capital.
- Al Kharid is close to a bank and the tanner, which keeps the cycle short.
