About this quest
Captain Lawgof's outpost has been overrun by goblins and his defences are broken. The quest is a short sequence of errands with one avoidable fight, and it hands over one of the most significant unlocks available at its level.
The dwarf multicannon changes Slayer and low-level bossing more than almost anything else an early account can obtain. It fires automatically at everything nearby, which roughly doubles kill rates at a great many tasks.
Why do it: The dwarf multicannon. It is a permanent unlock that speeds up Slayer, Ranged training and most low-to-mid-level combat money makers.
Walkthrough
01The broken fence

Talk to Captain Lawgof at the Dwarven Black Guard camp and agree to fix the fence. He hands over six railings.

Take the hammer from the shed nearby.

Walk the fence from one end and repair each broken section until all six railings are used. Repairs can fail, so work along it in order rather than guessing which sections are damaged.
Six railings, six sections. If you run out, you have wasted one on a section that was not broken — Lawgof will supply more.
02The watchtower

Report back and Lawgof sends you to check the south watchtower.

Deal with what you find there and return. The fight is short and avoidable with ranged attacks if your combat is low.
03The ammo mould

Go to Nulodion at the dwarf base south of Ice Mountain, in the western building. He gives you the ammo mould and his notes.

Bring both back to Captain Lawgof to finish and claim the cannon.
What to do next
Buy the cannon parts from Nulodion. The cannon costs a few hundred thousand and pays for itself quickly at almost any Slayer task.
Cannonballs are made from steel bars at a Smithing level you may not have yet — most players buy them from the Grand Exchange instead, which is the normal way to run a cannon.
The cannon does not work everywhere. Most notably it is banned in several dungeons and instanced areas, so check before relying on it for a specific task.
