About this quest
Starting out: Inspect the empty display on the ground floor of the Grand Museum in Civitas illa Fortis.
There is no written introduction to this one yet. The walkthrough, requirements, items and rewards below are complete.
Walkthrough
01The museum theft
- 1
Inspect the empty display at the Grand Museum in Civitas illa Fortis to start, then speak to Curator Herminius.
- 2
Investigate the tools on the ground behind the display — they are specialist tools — then inspect the display again to see the glass was tampered with.
- 3
Ask the citizens, academics and tourists on the floor whether they saw anything. One of them describes a grey-haired man.
02Across the sea
- 1
Travel to Port Sarim and ask a trader crewmember at the southernmost dock about the grey-haired man. He went north looking for runes.
- 2
Go to Betty's Magic Emporium in the north-west corner of Port Sarim with one free inventory space and ask about him. She remembers a monocle and a customer who did not know what he wanted.
03A misunderstanding
- 1
Pickpocket the curator for a storeroom key and use it on the storeroom north-east of the museum, under the stairs.
- 2
Search the single unstacked crate in the middle of the room. Xerna's Diadem is inside, along with other artefacts that should not be there.
- 3
Take it to Curator Haig Halen and press him for answers. A Shame-o-meter appears — pick the options that shame him hardest.
The effective sequence differs per player, so read each option rather than following a fixed list. Wrong picks only slow the meter, they do not fail the quest.
