The Depths of Despair

01The Varlamore envoy

Short, and one of the five Kourend favour quests. The book location is randomised, so no guide can point at a shelf.

1. 1

Speak to Lord Kandur Hosidius at the Hosidius family house, then go to the Arceuus Library beside the Tower of Magic.

2. 2

Ask Galana, in the north-eastern section of the ground floor, where the Varlamore envoy book is, then search the bookcases in the area she names. Every square is its own shelf, so work through them methodically.

If you log out before finding it, talk to Galana again — the location may have moved.

3. 3

Read the book once you have it.

02The Crabclaw Caves

1. 1

Head to the Crabclaw Caves — not Crabclaw Isle — south of the Woodcutting Guild, or take the Hosidius west mine cart for 20 coins.

2. 2

Follow the path east, then south through a crevice, then over the stepping stones and rocks.

Failing a stepping stone costs you health. Bring food if your Agility and Hitpoints are low, and you will want some for the fight anyway.

3. 3

Kill a sand crab while you are here for an easy Kourend & Kebos Diary task.

4. 4

Climb down the tunnel at the end of the caves and deal with what is waiting there, then take the Accord back to Lord Kandur.
