Gold amulet crafting
Smelt gold bars into amulets and string them. Trains Crafting from level 8 and usually turns a small profit.
Gold amulets are the accessible end of Crafting profit. Buy bars, cast at a furnace with a mould, string with wool, sell. Nothing about it requires a high level.
Stringing adds meaningful value for almost no extra time, so selling unstrung amulets is usually leaving money on the table.
The gold bar price is the whole cost base, and it moves with Smithing demand rather than with Crafting demand. That disconnect is where the margin comes from and where it disappears.
It trains Crafting while it earns, which makes it a reasonable way through the early levels of a skill that is otherwise expensive.
What you actually do
- 1Buy gold bars and take them to a furnace with an amulet mould.
- 2Cast the amulets, then string them if you want the higher price.
- 3Sell and repeat when the buy limit resets.
