The most AFK boss in the game. Kraken cannot deal meaningful damage through Protect from Magic and drops the trident and tentacle.

The kraken is unusual among bosses in that it cannot reach you. Stay off the water tiles and the tentacles are the only thing that can deal damage, which makes this close to a safe-spot fight with boss-level loot.

That safety is the point. The trident and the tentacle are both valuable, and you can chase them with almost no risk of losing a trip, which is rare at this reward level.

It is magic-only in practice. Bringing melee gear here is a wasted trip, and the trident of the seas or swamp is effectively the entry requirement.

Very low attention makes this one of the few boss methods you can genuinely run alongside something else, such as managing Grand Exchange offers between kills.

What you actually do

1Take a cave kraken Slayer task and travel to the Kraken Cove.
2Fish up the whirlpool to start the fight, then attack with magic.
3Bank when supplies run low; the cove is close to a teleport.

Getting the most from it

The kraken cannot reach you if you stay off the water tiles, which makes this one of the safest bosses in the game.
