Green dragons
Kill green dragons in the Wilderness for dragon bones and green dragonhide. A long-standing route for mid-level accounts.
Green dragons are the classic Wilderness money maker, and the reason people still do them is that the requirements are almost nothing. An anti-dragon shield, a weapon you can already use and food is the whole setup.
The income is bones and hides — both stackable in a looting bag, both always in demand, neither dependent on a rare drop. That makes the rate predictable in a way most low-level combat is not.
The risk is entirely other players. The dragons themselves are slow and easy once you are protected from their breath; player killers are what end trips. Bring nothing you would mind losing and treat every trip as expendable.
There are safer alternatives in the members game, but nothing free-to-play pays comparably at this combat level. If you accept the losses as a cost of doing business rather than a disaster, the average across many trips is still good.
What you actually do
- 1Bank an antifire shield, food and a way out, then travel into the Wilderness dragon area.
- 2Kill dragons, picking up bones and hides — the hides are most of the value.
- 3Watch for other players constantly. This is Wilderness content and the risk is other people, not the dragons.
- 4Bank or teleport out before your inventory is full enough to be worth killing you for.
Getting the most from it
- Take nothing you would mind losing. That is the whole risk management strategy here.
- Bones and hides both sell. Dropping the bones to carry more hides is usually wrong at low levels.
- The Wilderness lever and the teleport-out are your safety. Know where both are before you start.
- Green dragons in members-only non-Wilderness areas exist and pay less but risk nothing — worth considering if you dislike PvP.
