A Tail of Two Cats

Take a cat to Unferth's house in eastern Burthorpe, just north of the general store. The cat can stay in your inventory and jumps out when needed.

Hild, in the house north-east of Unferth, enchants your amulet for five death runes so it can locate Bob.

Bob wanders very widely, so expect to use the amulet several times.

Bob is in love with Neite, who will not have a cat with no family. He remembers nothing before Gertrude raised him.

Ask Gertrude, south of the Cooking Guild west of Varrock, about his family. Your cat connects him to the legend of Robert the Strong.

Talk to Reldo in the Varrock Palace library about that legend.

Go to Sophanem — the pharaoh's sceptre, or a Nardah teleport and the magic carpet. Buy the desert outfit from Raetul and Co east of the Sphinx if you need it.

Talk to the Sphinx south-east of the northern pyramid and ask for help.

Choosing the brief summary instead of the five-minute cutscene means you are not offered the teleport back to Burthorpe.

Back at Unferth's house, work through the chores on the list — the milk, the shears, the potato seeds, the rake and dibber, the logs and tinderbox all belong to these.

Unferth then claims to be ill. The Apothecary in south-western Varrock says he is a hypochondriac and gives you a vial of water as a placebo, plus a doctor's or nurse hat.

Find Bob again — you may need to log out and back in for him to reappear — and watch the cutscene, then talk to Unferth to finish.
