01Make the lantern first

The single most common way to waste time here is entering the caves with the wrong light source and having to walk all the way out again.

   Build a sapphire lantern before you go: add a cut sapphire to an unlit bullseye lantern, fill it with lamp oil from the still using swamp tar, and light it with a tinderbox.

   • Tinderbox

   A plain bullseye lantern gets you through the caves but cannot attract the light creature later, and you cannot make the sapphire version underground.

   Enter the Lumbridge Swamp Caves — a rope is needed the first time — and go to the south end to reach the Chasm of Tears.

02Juna

1. 1

   Speak to Juna and choose to tell her stories of your adventures. She asks for a bowl made from the rocks across the chasm.

   Telling her a story is required before the stone can be carved. Skip it and the chisel does nothing.

03Crossing and carving

   Go back the way you came, climb the rocks and use Attract on a light creature. The sapphire lantern draws it in and it carries you across.

2. 2

   Mine a magic stone with your pickaxe and use the chisel on it to make a stone bowl. One is enough.

3. 3

   Head east, climb down the rocks and give the bowl to Juna.

4. 4

   Keep the lantern — While Guthix Sleeps wants one too, and the sapphire can be recovered by extinguishing the lantern and using the lens on it.
