Cerberus

Drops the primordial, pegasian and eternal crystals — the best-in-slot boot upgrades for all three combat styles.

Cerberus drops the crystals that upgrade boots into the best melee, ranged and magic footwear in the game, and there is no other source. That is the entire reason the method exists — the rest of the drop table is modest.

The fight has two mechanics that matter: the summoned souls, which each demand a different protection prayer, and the lava pools, which punish standing still. Both are learnable in a handful of kills.

A hellhound Slayer task is required to enter, so this cannot be farmed continuously. Extending the task is the usual way to get a longer run at it.

Prayer is the limiting supply rather than food. Bring more restores than feels necessary; running out of prayer mid-kill is what ends most trips early.

What you actually do

1Take a hellhound task and travel to Cerberus's lair beneath Kourend.
2Watch for the three souls she summons and pray against the correct one each time.
3Move off the lava pools when they appear rather than trying to tank them.
4Bank between kills; the lair is close to a bank via teleport.

Getting the most from it

The souls are the mechanic that matters. Praying against the wrong one takes a large chunk of health instantly.
Primordial crystals are the rare drop everyone is here for, but the regular loot is respectable.
This is a step up in attention from Slayer bosses like gargoyles. Learn it when you are comfortable switching prayers quickly.
