About this quest
Starting out: Talk to Brundt the Chieftain in the Rellekka longhall.
There is no written introduction to this one yet. The walkthrough, requirements, items and rewards below are complete.
Walkthrough
01Seven trials, one vote each
Long, and the reward — a Fremennik name, Rellekka access and the helm — gates a lot of the north. The trials can be done in any order.
- 1
Speak to Brundt the Chieftain in the Rellekka longhall to start, then work through the seven councillors.
- Tinderbox
02Manni, Olaf and Sigli
- 1
Manni the Reveller challenges you to a drinking contest you cannot win honestly. Buy a low alcohol keg of beer from the Poison Salesman by the Seers' Village bar for 250 coins and swap it in.
- 2
Olaf the Bard wants a performance. Speak to him before hunting a lyre — if you intend to get one as a drop from Lanzig, Borrokar, Lensa or Freidir, the drop does not happen until the trial is started.
Starting Olaf's trial first is the single easiest thing to get wrong in this quest.
- 3
Sigli the Huntsman gives you a hunters' talisman. Use Locate to get a direction, and follow the small transparent butterfly that trails the Draugen. Use the talisman on its exact tile to fight it.
03Sigmund, Swensen and Thorvald
- 1
Sigmund the Merchant wants an exotic flower, which turns into a chain of favours around the town. Do not lose any item you are given or you restart from Askeladden's promissory note.
- 2
Swensen the Navigator's maze is down the ladder in the south-west of his house. Rooms with burning torches have one correct portal; dim rooms with webs and skeletons are dead ends.
- 3
Thorvald the Warrior sets you against Koschei the deathless. You must beat him three times, and he gets stronger each round.
Only the first three rounds matter. Dying in the fourth still passes the trial, and it is a safe death — the fight simply ends at 1 hitpoint.
04Peer the Seer
- 1
Peer wants you to walk in his front door and out the other side, carrying nothing.
- 2
Do this trial last. Completing the dialogue after he explains it banks everything you are carrying, which saves a walk to the bank and back.
- 3
Getting in needs a four-letter word from his puzzle, then a series of rooms inside.
