Herbiboar is unusual: it pays at a level most gathering methods do not reach, and it involves no combat and no danger at all. The activity is following a trail of clues around Fossil Island and searching the right objects in order.
The herbs scale with your Herblore level, so the same activity is worth progressively more as you level. That makes it one of the few methods that improves without any change in what you actually do.
It trains Hunter at a reasonable rate while it earns, which is a combination almost nothing else offers at this level.
The trail-following is more engaging than most gathering, but it also means this is not AFK. Expect to be clicking steadily throughout.
What you actually do
- 1Travel to Fossil Island and start a herbiboar trail at the tunnel.
- 2Follow the trail markers, searching each until the herbiboar appears.
- 3Harvest it for herbs, then start the next trail.
Getting the most from it
- No combat at all, which makes it unusual among methods paying this well.
- The herbs scale with Herblore level, so the rate rises as you level.
- It trains Hunter at a reasonable rate alongside the money, which is a rare combination.
